This Week's Food Focus is Breakfast

Updated: Mar 13, 2018

The word "breakfast" dates back to the 15th century, referring to the meal eaten to break the fast of the previous night: break + fast

According to present professional thinking amongst epidemiologists, breakfast is no longer the "most important meal of the day" as it is thought to increase the risks of metabolic syndrome.

Having said that, breakfast is a lovely way to start the day and can be light or substantial, sweet or savoury...a brunch, after a leisurely lie in at the weekend (what's a lie in she says? They don't exist in our house with two energetic toddlers!).

This week we will share some of our favourite recipes for making a variety of healthy breakfasts; hot, cold, fruity, quick, savoury, brunch style, gluten free, vegan, the list goes on!
